Research

My research examines the relationship between art, design, culture, and technology within the context of my environment. Through my visual work, I strive to interpret the idea of place through the analysis of information derived from my site-specific research. I am intrigued about the relationship between typography and photography and have been exploring this relationship through my writing, graphic design, and personal artwork. My on-going research and study of that relationship has produced visual works that examine, compare, and contrast visual and typographic signs in public and private spaces from both sides of the Arizona/Mexico border.
